What can you do with an AI camera?
What do you feel about AI’s impact on Art?
I mean, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you might have noticed that AI is creeping ever-more into our lives. And, whether we are conscious of it or not, increasingly also in our art as well.
So, how do we feel about that?
Do we feel worried, surprised, confused, or excited?
Hey, maybe you don’t feel anything at all! That’s ok as well.
As for me, well, I feel pretty excited about it. I think that every time that we have created new tools we have created new art as well. And it is that possibility, of creating new, and never before seeing art, that excites me. I think the new AI tool will allow many more people more creative freedom and capabilities to express themselves like never before.
See, art isn't only about ideas. It's also about the doing. Think of a painter without a brush – just a frustrated genius with paint-covered hands, right? I mean, Michelangelo couldn't have sculpted the David with a butter knife, no matter how talented he was. Without tools, there’d no art.
Every brushstroke, every chipped bit of marble, every snapped photo - it's a conversation between the artist and their tools. A good tool feels like an extension of yourself. It helps ideas flow out of your mind and into reality. But, when tools change, art changes as well. New tools enable new ways to think and create and it’s no different with the new AI tools that are now dropping.
They will change art as well, by rewriting its very boundaries.
